How to Check Short Circuit in Winding of the Bucket Elevator

The bucket elevator has the advantage of large conveying capacity, high lifting height and long service time. Many of us would wondering why short circuit in winding happens in the operation, this passage introduces the methods for checking the short circuit in winding in the following:
  1. Check the electrical bridge;
Measure the direct-current resistance of winding. The general phase difference should not exceed 5%, if it exceeds, we can confirm that the phase with small electrical resistance has short trouble.
  1. Power the elevator and do experiment;
Measure the current by ammeter, short trouble exists where there is high current.
  1. Observe the surface of the bucket elevator;
Observe whether there is burn at the connecting box and the winding overhang.
  1. Check the temperature of the bucket elevator;
Operate the elevator without load for 20 minutes(power it off immediately if there is any abnormal phenomenon), and touch each part of the winding part to see if the temperature is higher than the normal temperature.
  1. Check by the millimeter or the Meg-ohmmeter;
Measure the insulation resistance between two any phase, if it is very low or shows no resistance, then it means there is short trouble here.

The main parameter of the bucket elevator is according to the handling system, loading and unloading location conditions, production process and the characteristics of transported material,main aspects are as follows:
1. Conveying capacity: it means the amount per hour, usually calculated in weight or volume.
2. Conveying speed: improving the speed can increase the elevating capacity. Especially when use the belt bucket elevator for long distance transporting,it needs to improve the conveying speed, but if use chain bucket elevator you should not, in case of enlarging the burden.
3. Pats dimension: the dimension of parts include belt width, plate width, bucket volume, channel diameters and so on, these dimensions will have an impact on the conveying capacity.
4. Conveying distance: the total distance will have an impact on the total resistance and power.
